Our Vision

It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. – John 15:16

We believe in the power of vocations. Your God-given vocation is nothing other than your surest path to growing in holiness, encountering happiness, and participating in the mission of the Church.

We believe that every Catholic can promote vocations. Whether you are discerning God’s will for your life, encouraging others to take a next step in faith, or prayerfully or financially supporting vocations ministries, you are doing your part in unlocking the power of vocations.

We envision a fruitful culture of vocations rooted in discipleship. The needs of our times require a transformative, cultural response. This culture must be grounded in discipleship, because our abilities to pursue and promote vocations flow out from being faithful, trusting disciples of Jesus Christ. Like the fields, vineyards, and orchards across our diocese, we dream to see this culture of vocations yield many fruitful harvests year after year.

“[W]e entreat you, O Lord, that . . . the seeds you sow with great abundance in the field of your Church may come to maturity, so that many may make it their choice in life to serve you in their brothers and sisters.” (From the Prayer after Communion for the Mass for Vocations to Holy Orders)
